While investigating a question I asked in #63 , I noticed that Upstash Redis includes telemetry. However, I couldn’t find any mention of this in the documentation.

I believe this should be documented to maintain transparency with users and help them understand what data is being collected and how to enable/disable it.

Hi @EverStarck,

Sorry for the delay in looking into this request.

I gave it some thought, and I think we may:

  • keep it enabled by default
  • document what we collect and how to disable it for all our SDKs in their readmes and their docs on our docs at https://upstash.com/docs

Unlike a CLI, we can't let the user know that we are collecting telemetry by logging to console (we would be logging a lot of logs). Instead we will try to make it easy to see in our docs and readme. If you have an alternative suggestion, I would love to consider it

Data collected is anonymous always. It's simple information like Upstash SDK version
